Enjoy Your Day

Dustin Kensrue (Thrice), Chris Conley (Saves the Day), Matt Pryor (The Get Up Kids), and Anthony Raneri (Bayside) cover “Linoleum” by NOFX on the Where’s The Band? Tour at The Basement in Columbus, Ohio. January 23, 2009.

The Where’s the Band? tour features acoustic performances by these 4 talented men. Unfortunately, when they have played, it’s never been around me and so, I’ve never gotten to experience it. What I have got to experience, is a Chris Conley and Dan Andriano (bassist/vocals for Alkaline Trio) acoustic set at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.

Dan Andriano opened up, playing mostly his own songs. I’m pretty sure Blue Carolina was the only Alkaline Trio song that he played. I enjoyed it, I am a very big Alkaline Trio fan, but my heart was there for Chris Conley. Saves the Day is my all time favorite band, I’ve seen them live 14 times (15 if you count this show). So being in the Stone Pony, which has a capacity of only 2500 people, and seeing Chris Conley acoustic was a big deal for me. He came out. He didn’t even have a set list. He took audience requests for 2 hours and played whatever we wanted to hear, as long as he was capable of having it sound good acoustic. It was amazing. So, even though I haven’t gotten to experience the Where’s the Band? tour, I got my own little piece of it when I saw Chris Conley.
