Enjoy Your Day

Weezer is performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight.

So, to prepare for that here’s Weezer performing MGMT’s Kids (with some Lady Gaga thrown in there) on Jimmy Kimmel in October.

I’ve seen Weezer live 3 times, twice within the past year. They put on an excellent show. The first time that I saw them was in 2001, after the release of their Green album. I don’t remember much about that show. But in September of 2008, I saw them at the Borgata in Atlantic City. They performed such a good mix of old songs and new songs. They aren’t one of those bands who play their entire new album and then 2 old songs as an encore. It was an awesome show.

This past August, I saw them at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel. I am not a fan of the venue at all, but I decided to stick it out for this show and it was well worth it. They were one of the opening bands, but it was for Blink 182 and my teenage self was too excited to see them. But back to Weezer. Their first song was War Pigs by Black Sabbath. It really doesn’t get much better then that. And again, the best mix of old and new.

The crowds at these Weezer shows are so energetic. Jumping around, dancing and singing along to every song they play. This is half the fun of shows, feeding off other people’s energy. I absolutely love it. So, if you ever get the chance to see Weezer live, I highly suggest it. Their Borgata show was definitely one of the best shows I have ever been to.
